IP Protection and Publication Workflow

Integrated Publication and Protection Model

The Journal of Commercializable Technologies follows a unique integrated model in which authors receive both manuscript publication and patent protection under the same platform. Upon submission of an research article or an early-stage technology (TRL 1–3), the manuscript undergoes initial editorial screening to evaluate novelty and commercialization potential. Promising submissions are curated and subjected to a structured patentability assessment based on novelty, inventive step, and industrial applicability.

If the technology is found to be patentable, the journal’s IPR team facilitates patent filing prior to public disclosure, ensuring protection of the innovation. The manuscript then proceeds through peer review and is published as a protected technology, providing both academic recognition and intellectual property rights.

If the submission is not considered patentable, it continues through the standard peer review process and is published as a regular manuscript.

Through this unified approach, authors benefit from simultaneous intellectual property protection and scholarly publication, along with enhanced visibility to industry, investors, incubators, and potential commercialization partners.

Article Processing Charges (APC)

An Article Processing Charge (APC) of INR 8,000 is applicable for manuscripts submitted under the following categories: Research Articles, Review Articles, Short Communications, Patent Landscapes, Patentable Ideas / Innovation Disclosures, Patent Assessment, Technology Case Studies, and Breakthrough Technologies. This fee covers editorial processing, peer review, and publication.

For authors opting for integrated intellectual property support, a consolidated APC of INR 14,000 is applicable. This includes filing of a patent application followed by publication of the article under any of the above categories in the Journal of Commercializable Technologies. This unique model enables authors to secure both patent protection and scholarly publication under a single platform.
